Cameron Quinn is a 7th dan in Kyokushin Karate.
Cameron Quinn is a lifelong student of Kyokushin Karate. He travelled to Japan at 17 to train with Sosai Mas Oyama and, beginning with the Eighth All Japan Championships in 1976, served as the master’s interpreter when required until the master’s death in 1994. Quinn has run Kyokushin dojos since the 1978 and has trained many successful world-class tournament champions and instructors.
He continues to teach to this day and is in high demand worldwide for his insightful, enjoyable, and highly educational seminars. He speaks and writes Japanese fluently.
Shihan Quinn is known and respected internationally for his teaching abilities and knowledge of his subject matter, he authored what is one of Kyokushin karate's most notable books "The Budo Karate of Mas Oyama", for which he drew on his years of training in Japan, including as an Uchi Deshi (live in student) and personal translator to Sosai Mas Oyama, the founder of the Kyokushin.
Cameron's experience and expertise in his field has carried him to all corners of the globe as a presenter, coach, and referee. There are very few that can boast such a large resume in the discipline he has embraced.
As a teacher Shihan Cameron is known for his dedication to his students in helping them achieve their goals in life, and by creating a training environment based on challenging but intelligent training, sound core values and respect for self and others. It is no wonder that he is held in such high esteem.
Cameron is also a highly respected tackling coach and has trained elite teams and athletes from Australian Rules, rugby league and rugby union.
