John Wayne "The Gunslinger" Parr, also known as JWP, is a legendary Australian kickboxer and boxer, renowned for his achievements and expertise in Muay Thai. Based out of Boonchu Gym on the Gold Coast, Queensland, JWP has transitioned from a distinguished fighter to a highly respected coach.
JWP began his martial arts journey early in life, training in taekwondo before making his mark in Muay Thai. Over his illustrious career, he became a 10-time World Champion, competing in notable events such as the S1 Championship, King’s Cup, K-1 Max, and The Contender Asia. He fought at prestigious venues like Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadiums, concluding his fighting career with an impressive record of 147 fights, 110 wins, and 56 knockouts. His final bout was a memorable victory against Anthony Mundine.
Today, JWP channels his vast experience into coaching, helping fighters reach their full potential through expert training that is both practical and effective in real fight scenarios. Alongside his wife Angie, JWP has established a thriving community at Boonchu Gym, training individuals from all walks of life—from the unfit to the fit, novices to experts, and the weak to the strong. Sayeed Alam is a 7th Dan in Karate. Shihan Sayeed is a multi style practitioner who delivers a balance of various systems to provide a broad self defence program for his local community. Sayeed has been training in martial arts for most of his life and is proud to be involved in the teaching of thousands of schools students enrolled in his self defence profgram under the business calling card of Safe-T-Guru. The business specialises in self defence for all community needs and has gained respect across all areas of business and the community. Alam Karate is the name of the Karate school that resides in his local community of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Shihan Sayeed is concerned for the safety and welbeing of all his students and has designed a karate style (originally derived from the Shotokan Style) but now incorporating more freestyle aspects that transcend the boarders of Kick boxing, making it a very well rounded system. Shihan Sayeed is also a competition and kickboxing promoter who runs various events in his area, all designed to create community participation, improve health and well being and build friendships. Shian Sayeed looks forward to taking his martial arts enterprise to new heights in the years to come and invites new clients to enjoy the benefits of a well balance martial arts program.
Amelia irwin is a 1st Degree black belt, coach in Teshinkai Karate and a popular personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Amelia has been studying Karate for most of her life and is a well respected martial artist and much loved childrens instructor. Amelia's expertise as a group fitness instructor is reflected in the popularity of her classes, and underpinned by the enthusiasm she projects in her classes and in regular gym environment. Amelia is a respected personal trainer and has the experience behind her to achive just about any goals for her clients.
Barry Pang is a Sifu - Master teacher in Wing Chun Kung Fu Barry’s interest and dedication to martial arts training began at an early age. As soon as able, he travelled to Hong Kong to learn Wing Chun from notable student of Ip Man, Wong Shun Leung.
With a focus on effective, applied martial arts, his students frequently trained for and competed in open styles tournaments. As a result, some of the club champions included Anne Pang (Blitz Hall of Fame Award for Female Self Defence Instruction) and Scott Peterson (Australian Kung Fu Champion 1995). Barry Pang is a Wing Chun Kung fu Master who has been described as the 'pioneer of Kung Fu' in Australia.
Sifu Barry founded one of the first Kung Fu schools in Melbourne in 1974 and produced many martial arts fighting champions. The Barry Pang Kung Fu Schools expanded rapidly in the 70s in Melbourne CBD, decentralised into the suburbs in the 80s and went into universities in the 90s. One of the most memorable achievements was establishing the Southern Universities Sports Associations Kung Fu games opened to all martial arts across seven universities. Sifu Barry Pang continues to be a proficient exponent of the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu and a well-respected Australian martial artist. After two decades refining his art and running his school in Melbourne, he began his training in Lung Ying (Dragon Shape), learning from an esteemed senior student of Grandmaster Lam Yiu Gwai, Wu Hua Tai. Both styles trace back hundreds of years to the same founder, Ng Mui. Reuniting these complementary kung fu styles is the Barry Pang Kung Fu mission.
Barry continues to develop his martial arts and teach to this day, focussing strongly on practical application. He also manages and invests in diverse business interests.
