Bill Poly is a 6th Dan in Kyokushin Karate
Shihan Bill Poly is a martial arts leader who has been involved in the teaching the Kyokushin style for over 40 years. One of the originals of the Kyokushin style in Australia, Bill Poly made a name for himself early in competition and renown for his kicking style that few could match. His passion for martial arts has led him from the champion fighter to instructor and mentor to many hundreds of students.
The Budo Kyokushin Karate organisation is led by Shihan Bill with many dojo’s operating in the Altona/Brooklyn, Blackburn (headquarters), Templestowe and Warrigul of Melbourne. Shihan Bill understands that Kyokushin Karate is not just about the outward appearance of the art but its inner significance.
Shihan Bill earned his passage to travel internationally early in his martial arts career and has trained with all of the greats including mas Oyama himself and Hawwai’s Shihan Bobby Lowe. The friendships established by Shihan Bill extend to most countries where he is held in hig esteem by all who know him.
Shihan Bill is a loyal advocate of the Kyokushin system and the instructors who helped in in the early stage of his career including Hanshi Eddie Emin, and Hanshi Tino Ceberano. Shihan Bill now involves himself in the passing down of his art to the young people with whom he mentors and by doing so has become an influential contributor to the communities that he serves.
