Shihan-Dai Khurshid Shabab Khan is a 4th Dan Black belt in Karate. Born on 03/02/1994, Shihan-Dai Khan is a Branch Chief for the International Sabaki Karate-do TESHINKAI for Pakistan. Shihan-Dai Khan's role within Teshinkai Karate is to bring inspiration, motivation and health through martial arts training to everyone, regarless of gender, race, religion or socio economic background. Shihan-dai Khan began trainng in Kyokushin Karate in Afganistan and later Pakistan as a young man. Shihan-dai Khan progressed through the ranks and it wasnt long before his passion for competition increased and he soon made a name for himself in the national and international full contact competition circuit. Shihandai Khan has dedicated his life to full contact Karate styles and he has competed in a variety of disciplines including Kyokushinkai, Shin Kyokushin. Kick boxing, muay Thai, wrestling, and judo. Shihan-dai Khan is also a black belt in Judo and has competed successfully in the discipline. Judo and its fundamentals of Tai Sabaki also has forged a pathway to Sabaki styles of Karate and as a consequence is able to adapt easy to the International Sabaki Karate-do TESHINKAI. Shihan-dai Khan now uses his vast experience in martial arts to help other young practitioners to gain success on and off the dojo mats. Shihan-dai Khan is the founder of Al.Anssar Sports Foundation in which he helps advance the martial arts careers of poorer community members. Shihan-dai Khan believes that martial arts is an important component of developing strong minds and bodies to establish resilience and a sense of purpose. Shihandai Khan is particularly concerned with the well being and positive development of his countries youth.
Peter Rich is a 4th Dan in Kyokushin Karate. Peter began his karate career at an early age, but knew he was hooked from the start. After several years of training, he started to enter every tournament and was without a loss in full contact for his first twenty fights. Peter also became a valuable member in the Eltham Ippon team which managed to win four consecutive Teams Championships and the AKKA Ippon Shobu Teams Tournament. Peter trained in a variety of dojo's to hone his skills, and continued his competition.
In 1996 he entered the New Zealand International tournament and was pushed up into the Heavyweight division and had his eyes opened to the hard hits of the Heavyweight division, never the less he came home with a second place trophy. 1996 also saw him win the Full Contact Karate Cup , place 3rd in the Ultimate Challenge and grade to Shodan (Black Belt). He narrowly missed selection for the World Weight Category Tournament but traveled as assistant coach for Maria Gibilisco who won the Womens Heavyweight division. His teaching started as a Green Belt teaching the Eltham Kids and has seen him teach in Williamstown and Moonee Ponds including the B squad, a group of up and coming fighters from Sensei Kolovos' Dojos. In 1997 he had a slow year and although not having put in the work he entered the Australian Championships and was reminded of the need for preparation after being knocked out by a third dan from South Africa and defeated with thigh kicks by Peter Graham in the Gippsland Tournament .But the following year he entered the Nationals again and won the Gippsland tournament and the Canberra ring tournament. 1999 saw him open his own club with the Gibilisco sisters and this was the birth of the successful Fighting Arts Fitness Centre www.fafc.com.au
Sayeed Alam is a 7th Dan in Karate. Shihan Sayeed is a multi style practitioner who delivers a balance of various systems to provide a broad self defence program for his local community. Sayeed has been training in martial arts for most of his life and is proud to be involved in the teaching of thousands of schools students enrolled in his self defence profgram under the business calling card of Safe-T-Guru. The business specialises in self defence for all community needs and has gained respect across all areas of business and the community. Alam Karate is the name of the Karate school that resides in his local community of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Shihan Sayeed is concerned for the safety and welbeing of all his students and has designed a karate style (originally derived from the Shotokan Style) but now incorporating more freestyle aspects that transcend the boarders of Kick boxing, making it a very well rounded system. Shihan Sayeed is also a competition and kickboxing promoter who runs various events in his area, all designed to create community participation, improve health and well being and build friendships. Shian Sayeed looks forward to taking his martial arts enterprise to new heights in the years to come and invites new clients to enjoy the benefits of a well balance martial arts program.
Brett Fenton is a Sifu in Kung Fu Sifu Brett Fenton’s interest in martial arts started as a child in the 70's when he was enthralled by the skills of Bruce Lee and the interesting story of Monkey. From that point on his dreams were to join the Army and to train in Martial Arts. Due to living in a small country town, he was unable to train in Kung Fu and had to choose the other disciplines of Taekwondo, Boxing and Kickboxing.
Eventually in the late 80's after joining the Australian Infantry, he started training in the styles of Wing Chun, Jow Ga, Lion Dance, Dragon Dance and Wy Style Tai Chi under Grandmaster Tom Lo (Blitz Magazine Instructors Hall of Fame Winner). In 1994 he opened his first branch for Grandmaster Lo. In 1997 his current school was opened.
In 1998 and 1999 the school won the Quest Business Achievers Award for Fitness & Sport. In 2000 he was bestowed the honour of becoming a Sifu by Grandmaster Lo. In 2006 he was awarded once again for his business achievements by winning the Quest Business Achiever Award. In the past 15 years he has trained with BJJ expert John B Will, Jow Ga expert Sifu Randy Sullivan Bennett, American Top Team Head Coach Master Ricardo Liborio, Australian Martial Arts Acting Legend Richard Norton, World Kickboxing Legend Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, Edged weapons expert Ray Floro, Extreme Martial Arts World Champion Mike Chat, Hyper Martial Arts creator Roland Osbourne and world renowned Lion Dance Sifu H.P. Show.
Along side continuing to train under Grandmaster Lo. Sifu travels internationally regularly to train and improve the standard of Martial Arts taught at Red Dragon. He was awarded the 2010 Australian Martial Arts Professional of the Year for his efforts and contributions to the Martial Arts in Australia. Later in 2010, Red Dragon was awarded Australian Top Martial Arts School by EFC in Washington DC.
Carlo is a highly accomplished individual in the field of taekwondo. He holds an internationally recognized 6th Dan Kukkiwon Black belt certification and has achieved remarkable success throughout his career, making him one of the most prominent figures in the history of taekwondo in Australia.
During his time as a professional athlete, Carlo had the privilege of collaborating with prestigious organizations such as the Victorian Institute of Sport and the national suicide prevention charity, Life's a Ball. Additionally, Carlo's experiences as an Olympian allowed him to become a sought-after public speaker and motivator. He frequently delivered inspiring talks and shared his insights with audiences, drawing from his own journey.
Carlo's dedication to empowering others extended beyond the realm of sports. He actively engaged with Melbourne secondary schools, conducting sessions that focused on teaching students valuable life skills and self-defense techniques.
Following his participation in the Athens Olympics, Carlo made the decision to retire from competitive sport and pursue his lifelong aspiration of establishing his own taekwondo center. Today, Team Carlo Taekwondo stands as one of the fastest-growing schools in Australia, reflecting Carlo's unwavering commitment to his dreams and the development of taekwondo in the country.
