Ashok Kumar Shrestha is a 5th Dan inKarate and represents the International Kyokushinkaikan Allied Karate Organisation.
Ashok's journey in Martial Arts began in 1989 with training in the Kyokushin Karate style. He earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in 1996 and has been an instructor and referee since then. He has organized various national and international seminars and tournaments, including the National Full-contact Karate Tournaments, Asia Cup-2020 Full-Contact Karate Tournament, and Indo-Nepal Open Full-contact Karate Tournament-2019. Ashok has also competed in numerous District, Regional, and National Championships, securing many medals and awards.
Some of his notable achievements include: - Gold Medal in the “All Nepal National Weight Category Full-contact Karate Tournament-1996” (50KG) in Kathmandu, Nepal. - Gold Medal in the “Kavre District Open Kyokushin Karate Tournament 1997” in Kavre, Nepal. - Silver Medal in the “TUBORG CUP All Nepal National Kyokushin Karate Tournament-1997” in Kavre, Nepal. - Special Honor in the “1st Asia Cup Open Full-contact Karate Tournament-2020” by the President of the World Kyokushin Kai Karate Organization, Seishin Iwashita, Japan. - Awarded the title “STAR-2020” by World Book of Records, UK, on July 3, 2020. - Awarded the title “Veteran Sports Personality Award” at the Asian Professional Achievement Awards 2022 in Dubai.
Currently, Ashok serves as the Country Representative and President of the Nepal Kyokushin Seishin Kaikan Karate Association (WKKO-NEPAL), affiliated with the World Kyokushin Kai Karate Organization, Japan, since 2012. His current rank is 6th Dan Black Belt from WKKO-JAPAN, and he has been nominated as a Vice President in the World Committee, WKKO-JAPAN.
