His journey through the world of physical activities has been a diverse and robust one, spanning from champion bodybuilder to Karate practitioner and eventually leading him to the captivating world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Ben's passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was so profound that he embarked on a transformative pilgrimage to the very heart of its origins - Brazil. Through countless years of unwavering dedication and rigorous training, his commitment bore fruit when he received his brown belt from none other than the esteemed founder and late Grandmaster, Carlson Gracie Sr. In 2007, his journey culminated with the ultimate recognition as he was awarded his black belt by Carlson Gracie Jr.

During his numerous sojourns to the original Carlson Gracie Academy in Copacabana, Brazil, Ben's dedication caught the attention of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community, leading to an official appointment as the representative of the Carlson Gracie Team in Australia.

Ben boasts a rich history of competition on a global scale, achieving remarkable success at State, National, and International competitions. His journey also led him to compete against some of the world's finest Jiu-Jitsu athletes at the prestigious Mundial (World) Championships in Brazil. Ben's extensive experience, coupled with dual diplomas in Sports Coaching and Sports Development, forms the foundation for his teaching methodology, which emphasizes progressiveness, safety, and meticulous attention to detail.

Ben's expertise didn't stop at the mats. His accomplishments and knowledge led to a role as a Training Consultant with the Australian College of Sports Development, where he trains individuals to become coaches and personal trainers, molding them into future leaders within the fitness industry. This role also provided Ben with the opportunity to elevate the skills of his students and Assistant Instructors, ensuring the continued success of the Carlson Gracie Team, under the guidance of well-qualified hands.
