Carlo Massimino

Carlo is a highly accomplished individual in the field of taekwondo. He holds an internationally recognized 6th Dan Kukkiwon Black belt certification and has achieved remarkable success throughout his career, making him one of the most prominent figures in the history of taekwondo in Australia.

During his time as a professional athlete, Carlo had the privilege of collaborating with prestigious organizations such as the Victorian Institute of Sport and the national suicide prevention charity, Life's a Ball. Additionally, Carlo's experiences as an Olympian allowed him to become a sought-after public speaker and motivator. He frequently delivered inspiring talks and shared his insights with audiences, drawing from his own journey.

Carlo's dedication to empowering others extended beyond the realm of sports. He actively engaged with Melbourne secondary schools, conducting sessions that focused on teaching students valuable life skills and self-defense techniques.

Following his participation in the Athens Olympics, Carlo made the decision to retire from competitive sport and pursue his lifelong aspiration of establishing his own taekwondo center. Today, Team Carlo Taekwondo stands as one of the fastest-growing schools in Australia, reflecting Carlo's unwavering commitment to his dreams and the development of taekwondo in the country.
