He has attained black belts in Shotokan and Teshinkai, as well as a brown belt in Goju.

His expertise in water storage management is unparalleled, particularly in the Dam Safety Unit. He played a vital role in developing Australia's most comprehensive suite of operation and maintenance manuals for major dams in northern Victoria. Shihan Frank possesses formal qualifications and certificates in Water Operations, Occupational Health and Safety, Supervision, Training Needs Analysis, Assessment and Workplace Training, and Contract Administration and Supervision. He has also pursued additional studies in areas such as Fraud and Conflict Awareness, Conflict Management Awareness, Coordinating Occupation Violence and Aggression, Information Security in the Workplace, Privacy, and Data Protection. Furthermore, he has undertaken studies in Applied Science and Conservation Resource Development.
