Introduction
Kancho Peter Lowl, a highly accomplished martial artist, holds the prestigious rank of 7th Dan in Karate. As the Chief Instructor (Kancho) of the Kyokushinkaikan Allied Karate Organization, he spearheads the progressive development and expansion of this renowned style throughout the various continents of the world. Kancho Lowl embarked on his Kyokushin journey in Wellington, New Zealand, under the tutelage of the esteemed Shihan Ron Discombe. He gained recognition as a formidable competitor in various Kyokushin tournament circuits.
In 1982, Kancho Lowl participated in his inaugural tournament in Hasting, which marked the beginning of an impressive career. His exceptional skills quickly earned him a spot on the New Zealand full contact karate team, where he proudly served from 1983 to 1988. Competing as a heavyweight, Peter Lowl achieved remarkable success, securing numerous victories and runner-up positions in the majority of competitions he entered. Notable highlights include engaging in fierce battles against esteemed fighters such as Tony Bowden and Sam Greco.
Throughout his extensive martial arts journey, Kancho Lowl has had the privilege of training some of the world's finest instructors in Australia, New Zealand, and Germany. Among his notable protégés are the esteemed Karate and kickboxing champion Peter Sampson, as well as Ross Wilson and many others. One of Lowl's greatest sources of pride is witnessing his son Bevan's participation in the WKO Shinkyokushin World Tournament.
