Originally gaining Black belt under Kyokushin Karate Peter now is part of the International Sabaki Karate do TESHINKAI. His martial arts journey began in 1990, and over the years, he has earned a reputation as a dedicated traditionalist who emphasizes discipline, hard training, and a deep understanding of Karate's values. Known for his unwavering commitment to his students, Shihan Peter has guided many aspiring martial artists on their path to achieving black belt status and beyond, nurturing their growth both in and out of the dojo.
Beyond Karate, Shihan Peter is an avid sports enthusiast, excelling in a range of athletic disciplines, including cricket and Australian Rules Football (AFL). His passion for sports has greatly influenced his approach to teaching, where he combines physical rigor with mental resilience, always ensuring that his students receive the support needed to reach their personal goals.
Shihan Peter’s influence extends far beyond the dojo walls. He is widely recognized within the Central Victoria secondary school system for his remarkable work in mentoring young people and helping reshape their lives through martial arts. His initiative, "Kenshusei Skills for Life," left a lasting impact on thousands of students. Through this program, participants not only advanced in their Karate journey within the Teshinkai Karate system but also saw marked improvements in their academic performance, including their Australian Tertiary Assessment Rank (ATAR) scores.
In addition to his martial arts instruction, Shihan Peter has played a significant role in the Victorian Government's School-Based Apprenticeship Scheme. Between 2005 and 2013, he helped countless secondary school students gain formal qualifications through their participation in martial arts.
