Sensei Peter Hogath, a dedicated martial artist, holds the rank of 3rd Dan in Karate. His journey in Kyokushin began in 1973 under the guidance of Hanshi Eddie Ermin and Shihan Peter Volke. During his active years in the tournament circuit from 1974 to 1977, Sempai Peter established himself as a passionate and skilled competitor. After a hiatus, he has recently returned to the world of Kyokushin and is now the senior branch chief of the Kyokushinkaikan Allied Karate.
Driven by a deep commitment to the growth of Shinkyokushin in South Australia, Sempai Peter has opened Ironside Dojo in his garage. His primary goal is to cultivate exceptional practitioners in this martial art. Emphasizing the importance of rigorous and focused training, Sempai Peter has rediscovered his enthusiasm for exploring the practical applications of karate in self-defense scenarios. While he places a special focus on instructing the junior class, Sempai Peter creates a warm and inclusive family environment where individuals of all races, nations, religions, creeds, and identities are welcomed.
In addition to his martial arts pursuits, Sempai Peter has a background in security work. He also served as a member of the Australian Defence Force from 1970 to 1973, further bolstering his discipline and dedication. Sempai Peter's commitment to safety is evident through his qualifications as a level 3 First Aid Responder and his possession of a DHS Working with Children Check. Furthermore, he has received comprehensive training as an internationally recognized judge and referee.
