Introduction

Mick Ognenovski is an esteemed martial artist with a 5th Dan in Karate and 2nd Dan in Toyama Ryu Iaido. He currently holds the teaching title of Shihan. Since July 2014, he has been sharing his unique martial arts blend with the public, conducting Junior and Senior classes in Lobethal and Birdwood South Australia. In addition to his studio classes, Mr. Ognenovski extends his expertise to schools and the local community of South Australia, where his own martial arts journey began. With regular trips to Japan and Okinawa for further training and development he is also a member of the esteemed Dai Nippon Butoku Kai International division.


Mr. Ognenovski has developed a curriculum under the name Satori Budo Kan, which combines traditional martial arts values with a modern approach. His emphasis lies on functionality and practicality, ensuring that students are equipped to navigate the demands of the contemporary world. The SBK AUSTRALIA syllabus encompasses various disciplines such as kickboxing, Judo, Jujitsu, Iaijutsu, Kobudo, and Goju Ryu, integrating their aspects into a freestyle status. This style continues to evolve as an effective and progressive modern martial art.
