Introduction
Brett Austin is a master teacher in a cross section of martial arts styles. Brett has been involved in martial arts for most of his life and now enjoys a life of teaching martial arts full time through his centre in Yamba New South Wales. Brett Austin first began Martial Arts as a child in 1984. This experience was the catalyst for joining the Regular Army in 1989. Having served as a Combat Engineer, posted to Overseas Deployment Force Brett discovered Go Ju Ryu and continued his training until reaching Black belt. Frequent postings afforded Brett the opportunity of training in Boxing, mixed Martial Arts, and combative arts. Having seen Active Service in East Timor Brett returned to Brisbane to operate a full time Close Quarter Combat training centre and appointed as 2IC of Budo-Jitsu CQC. As a Martial artist of 38 years and counting, teacher of 20 years and an ex-serviceman of 10 years Brett not only has the skills necessary to deliver a professional martial arts academy he also has the real-life experience that few can boast. The primary focus of his school is "Realistic self-protection" taught in a modern family focused, safe, welcoming, and friendly environment. Brett has studied a variety of martial art styles including, Goju-Ryu Karate, Hapkido, Hosinsul, Tukkong Moosol, Close Quarter Combat, and a style known as KABOSI – a combination of Kali, Boxing and Silat) Diamond Martial Arts belongs to a network of martial arts schools who all follow the same philosophy in realistic self-protection. This martial arts school has been operating since October 2016 and has become a well respected and supported business in and around the town of Yamba.
