His martial arts journey began with Kempo, a discipline he practiced for numerous years, eventually achieving the rank of brown belt. Additionally, Anthony pursued Kickboxing and attained a black t-shirt rank in this sport.
It was within his Kempo gym that Anthony Perosh first ventured into the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in March 1995. Afterward, he spent three years in the United States, where he trained under the tutelage of one of the world's premier coaches, Carlos Machado. Upon returning to his homeland, Anthony initiated BJJ instruction at the very Kempo gym where his journey began, offering classes once a week. He maintained regular visits to his American master while expanding his coaching activities to a church hall, where he could now train students three times a week. In 2002, he established a full-time academy and subsequently opened another academy bearing his name, fostering the growth of countless BJJ students across Australia.
In 2003, Anthony Perosh made a significant transition into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), marking a pivotal year in his career. He not only participated but emerged victorious in the "Spartan Reality Fight" MMA tournament, triumphing in all three fights on a single night. Furthermore, it was in 2003 that he was awarded his black belt by Carlos Machado. Rapidly ascending in the ranks, he solidified his status as one of Australia's finest MMA fighters.
In July 2006, Anthony made his debut on the grandest stage in the world of mixed martial arts, the UFC. Beyond his own accomplishments, Professor Anthony Perosh stands as a respected martial artist and coach who has devoted his life not only to mastering his discipline but also to nurturing and mentoring the students he serves.
